It is
with great pleasure that we present the detailed report of the activities of ISA Cochin
City Branch.
Cochin City Branch of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists consists of 60 members.
The city branch has been meeting regularly twice a month on every 2nd Friday
for regular monthly Scientific Meetings and on the last Friday for a Journal Club Meeting
in addition to other activities
The annual
Election of the office bearers for the year 2000 was held on 14/03/2000 at IMA Hall,
Cochin in the General Body Meeting of the ISA Cochin City Branch. This was delayed by two
months after the memorable Cochin Annual Conference of Anaesthesia in December.
The following

Krishnan, Secretary ISA National body presided the meeting.

Anaesthesia House. National Sceretary Dr. B. Radha Krishnan and National Treasurer Dr.V.V.
Pyarelal accompanied him.

2. WORLD
ANAESTHESIA DAY CELEBRATIONS.
at Hotel Circle Manor(11-11-2000)
The Family get
together for the year 2000 was celebrated at Hotel Circle Manor from 5.p.m. onwards.
Children and family members took part in many cultural programmes. All the children were
given presents for various activities and there were many interesting games in which our
members took part. There was an orchestra by a local troupe and Fellowship & Dinner
followed it. It was well appreciated by our family members.

2. Library
We are in the
process of starting a full-fledged library of its own with all important Anaesthesia books
and a virtual Electronic Library there which we have access to seven International
Journals in full text including Anaesthesia, British Journal Of Anaesthesia, Anaesthesia
& Analgesia e.t.c. The library activities will start in full swing from Dec 2000.
3. Pain
and Palliative Care Clinic
ISA Cochin City Branch under participation of CARS & Cancer and Palliative Care Society of Cochin is in the process of starting a pain clinic of its own. We have already finished the initial works for the same and will be inaugurated by January 2001.
New Branch
Our members from North Parur
area have started a new branch at North Parur. Many of our past members are the new office
bearers for the same. We have given our support and guidance to the new branch.
Membership Campaign
We were able to enrol 12 new members from our city branch during this current year
as ISA life members apart from the new enrolment at north parur branch.
We indeed are obliged to Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists National Branch and
its office bearers Dr K.Balakrishanan (president) Dr B.Radakrishnan (secretary) Dr V.V.
Pyarelal (treasurer and active member of our branch) and Kerala State branch for there
whole hearted support and co- operation we have received in all our endeavours.
